How to revolutionise your wardrobe without buying a single piece of clothing

I have had a bit of downtime recently, not out of choice may I add but actually I am eternally grateful, and it’s given me a fresh outlook on what to write that could help you in a practical and logical way… yes that’s right even I can do logical if I need to!

I have written about how to edit your wardrobe and how to organise it, so don’t want to sound like a broken record… even though its SO important to be in touch with your wardrobe and how it’s working for you and why, but I have realised that sometimes the most simple things are forgotten and actually, they can revolutionise how you feel about the pieces you own because they look better, hang better and from this your wardrobe feels a lot less stressful! It’s a triple win.

So youre thinking, what on earth is Sian talking about? How can I revolutionise my wardrobe without buying a single new item of clothing? Well, team let me tell you three things you should buy to change your wardrobe GAME. I have done it this week and I feel like a fool that I haven’t done it already and I’m a personal stylist so… no excuses my end!

Buy MATCHING HANGERS

Oh my god, if you do one out of the things I recommend please do this. Why you ask?! Because with matching hangers including the clip hangers which always get forgotten (I bet ALL of you hang your bottoms folded in half over hangers for tops and dresses) Matching hangers mean that everything hangs beautifully at the same height so immediately looks more organised, thought about and cared for. Matching hangers also mean that there is a similar distance between everything hanging too because you don’t have random thick jacket hangers next to your skinny dry cleaning hangers… who relates here?! Bin your dry cleaning hangers immediately… please! They look so sad and helpless in your wardrobe LOL.

There are so many options online for hangers. The most cost effective is the velvet hangers. Grey gets my vote. This means nothing will fall off of them and create a pit of doom at the bottom of your wardrobe so none of your pieces get forgotten about. You can also buy matching clip hangers that are the exact same size… so no excuses not to do both here. The next step is matching white wooden hangers from Wayfair. Fancy like your fave indy boutique or if you really want to go for it, try posh copper hangers from etsy to be super faaaaancy (this is my step when I eventually own a walk in wardrobe… the crème del la crème of wardrobes… itll be rude if I don’t own one)

Next up is grab yourself a jewelry display box.

Now you can get hangers, boxes or stands and I recommend stand if you want to show off your stunning accessories and make them part of your interiors. One of my motto’s is (and you probably know this by now) If you can’t see them, you wont wear them! All your stunning earrings, bracelets and necklaces are neglected because they aren’t at eye level… the poor darlings! If you don’t want them on display because you’re more of a minimalist kinda gal then go for cute boxes you can keep on top of your chest of draws or inside them if you really don’t want them on show. I hang my long necklaces in my wardrobe at the front of my wardobe so that I can see them at all times too, so you can always mix it up! Again, for budget friendly options head to Oliver Bonas, next in line is Nukuku.

Treat yourself to some sexy seperators

My final suggestion to keep your draws looking sweet is some separators. If you have watched the Home Edit on Netflix (if you haven’t watch it now for some lovely mind-numbing inspo) But keeping your lingerie organised not only means your draw looks lovely but you can also find what you need when you get dressed in the dark and you’re more likely to match your socks up after you wash them (trust me I’m speaking from experience)

John Lewis have the official Home edit draw separators but we can always rely on Ikea for less costly options too! When you decide to buy your separators, I recommend keeping your undies together, if you have space separate your big period pants from your lovely panties and no VPLs. Have a section for your matching sets, tights, shape wear and then socks and I even recommend a basket for socks that don’t match… voila your undies are done. Then with your top draw have one for vests, sleeveless items, short sleeve and long sleeves. Same with your pjs, one for your saucy bits, one for your nighties, one for your summer pieces and then a final one for your cozy winter pjs.

This may not be my most style-inspiring blog but I assure you it will create a lot of impact and help you feel so much more pulled together and more importantly excited to see your wardrobe and accessories! Sometimes stripping it back to basics can really give you the boost you need and then your style inspo can really begin!

Let me know what options you go for, I cant wait to see!

Stylish wishes as ever,
