Celebrating Galentines & the magic of female friendships

My girlfriends make me who I am. I am outrageously #blessed to be surrounded by the most inspiring, strong, focused, driven, talented and loving girlfriends. I champion my girls, there is honestly nothing they couldn’t handle if thrown at them. They lift me up, encourage, support, and guide me and I learn from each of them daily. I could cry with how much I love them.

I feel my very best when I am with them and I never have to worry about anything when we are together. I live for my girls, I would do anything for them and trust them with my life. Not being able to see them or physically hold them for so long has been the hardest part of Covid for me. I crave them and I hand on heart couldn’t feel luckier to have such divine humans in my life. It’s like we are an army of positivity for each other and all we want is the very best for us. Obvs mum, nan, sis, aunty, and Kate too!

Writing this has actually increased my heart rate. I miss them SO very much. My girls have been next to me through thick and thin, battling with ghosts of the past, jobs going outrageously badly, hysterical crying, making the wrong decisions and so much more I don’t even know where to begin.

We have danced in awful nightclubs but also under the stars, we have shared such special moments between us that words can’t describe and we understand each other with one tiny glance. We have laughed so much we cant understand how none of us have 6 packs, told each other we love each other so much that others may think strangely of us, and have the most hilarious stories and embarrassing memories that make us HOWL. We must be friends forever because we know too much about each other – it’s simply not safe to not be in each other lives.

For galantines today, as well as celebrating the love for my Girlfriends, I’d like to introduce you to three jaw-dropping brands that are owned by women who are best friends and followed their dreams and worked their socks off to create the most exquisite brands. Hats off to you and GAL power!

Queens of Archive

Introducing the one and only POWERHOUSE Nicola and Sarah from Queens of Archive. Check out this from their bio…

‘We pay homage to the Queens of yesteryear who paved the way for us all by naming our dresses after them, proving that any woman can not only be interested in fashion and style but also ooze intelligence, embody strength and be a legendary trailblazer. They can be rock ‘n’ roll & hedonistic but still be able to speak five languages, chair a meeting & be the CEO of a company.’

Now if that doesn’t celebrate female friendship at its very finest, I don’t know what does. Nicola and Sarah are influenced by vintage style and female empowerment and use unique prints and design everything in-house. Queens of archive dresses are produced in exclusive, limited runs and are sustainable and vegan friendly. They have ticked all the boxes BUT what has truly struck at my heart strings with them (apart from their insane collection) is there kindness in supporting me and my business without any hesitation or question, just pure trust and understanding. I wish the whole world worked like they do! Check out my 4 top picks from their Sunday Morning’ Collection, if you need any enabling to buy… I’m your girl. Keep your eyes peeled because I have a couple of exciting projects up my sleeves with the girls too!

Rixo

Rixo created their own storm at LFW by using their friends, family and REAL women for their catwalk and boy they stole the show. Henrietta & Orlagh met at University of Arts London, where on their first day enrolling as students Henrietta complimented Orlagh on her vintage handbag and the rest has been history! Imminently discovering a mutual love for vintage, the pair have been best friends ever since and have also lived together through their first 5 years of RIXO - becoming more like sisters than friends. This fills me with SO much admiration for the incredible brand.

As female founders, both are equally passionate about running the business and live, breath, eat sleep RIXO. With no outside funding or investment, the girls have together, made every decision and are still 100% in control of the brand - which they believe is key for the longevity & freedom to ensure they can stand by what they feel is right for the brand, instead of being pressured to hit financial targets. I could not agree MORE.

RIXO create vintage inspired one-off pieces for the modern woman to wear with confidence, on multiple occasions for multiple uses, to feel the best version of herself. This makes me jump for joy and want to shout it from the rooftop! Here’s my top 4 pieces in their latest collection that you NEED in your wardrobe.

Beija

Sisterly love with Beija London is the initiative of Abbie Miranda and Mazie Fisher. Growing up in the family lingerie manufacturing business, with a lifelong insight into the world of bras, they set out to create a brand that is relatable to many types and sizes of women. Lingerie is the most overwhelming thing on this plane. I second guess myself if something fits and guess what… this amazing sisterly duo responds to the needs of different cup sizes. With 3 unique sizing categories (X, Y, and Z™) they have created a collection that is beautifully practical, without compromising on style. ABSOLUTE WIN

Using the same fabrics throughout each range, we tailor our designs to suit your shape, so style and fit always go hand in hand.

X Category For smaller busts. Always wire-free and sized S, M, and L.

Y Category Made for cup sizes B - D for those who require a little more support.

Z Category Fully supported range in DD - H cups.

Easy! Plus, they are conscious of packaging and all orders fit through your letterbox! Hurrah! These are my 4 fave sets – treat yourself to some matching undies to celebrate female friendships, I urge you!

Make sure you celebrate your female friendships today, even if you WhatsApp them an emoji for no reason. They are the foundations of us and help us to become the best versions of ourselves. Ill be raising a big ol’ glass to each and every one of them this weekend.

Girls, you know who you are, this is a thank you for always being by my side and for loving me at both my very best and worst. I am forever grateful of you all.

Stylish wishes and all the feels
