Valentines Style 101
My top tips for dressing for date night, whatever your style.
Whether you’re Married, long term partners, newly together, almost official, awkward first dates or just with your girls – I have your outfits covered. Out for dinner, weekend away, at home with wine and your kids, cocktails with the girls, or you don’t really give two hoots, don’t worry, I have you covered! Dressing up should be a joy and something you get excited by – not stressed out or getting that awful feeling of dread!
Weekend away
Firstly, pack light and be smart! I recommend ‘One stop look’ pieces so you don’t forget the matching top/bottom and kick yourself in the hotel room and can’t perfect your outfit. Try to pack items that travel well so don’t need ironing. Heavier fabrics or tulle (SATC look) work well. You’ll need two date night looks so I’d recommend a drop-dead gorgeous look for night one and then feminine and flirty look for night two – keep them guessing… Underwear wise, I can’t recommend Bluebella enough, gorgeous matching sets or body suits in divine lace and saucy cuts. Select dresses with flattering V necks to subtly show some flesh OR if you’re less busty, halter neck tops to get your shoulders out. Choose a jumpsuit that cinches in your waist and elongates your legs…who doesn’t want legs for days?!

Out for dinner
Lucky you! I’d take time choosing sumptuous fabrics such as satins, velvets or soft knits so it feels luscious next to your skin and makes you feel that bit more special. If you don’t have to walk too far or get the tube, get your best statement heels on too! If you don’t want to dress up too much, choose leather/pleather and flats. Accessorise with a glass of bubbles at all times though…
Just met
Ooooooh, exciting times ahead! But also perhaps the most stressful time for nailing your outfit! Don’t over think (LOL) trust your gut instinct (it’s what it’s there for) but also know you can choose a look you’ve never tried before but have always wanted to as the lucky person youre dating, will think you always ooze this look. Winning. I’d choose elegance and sophistication for the night. Wide legged trousers and printed satin top or pleated skirt and off the shoulder top.

Night in
My fella and I LOVE to cook for our date nights. We love getting to choose whatever music, wine and food we fancy. Sometimes it’s hard to summon up the motivation to dress up for a date night at home when all you want is your slippers and PJs BUT its super fun to feel nice at home. I say pop your best undies on (que bluebella suits) and wear a more daring neckline as you and your partner are the only one who will see (I have a fear of boobs popping out in public HA) Perhaps choose prints to mask any cooking splatters or wine spillages (speaking from experience here!) I’d say your best jeans and a lush blouse.

Girls night
Quite possibly my FAVE times ever… (sorry Jonny) Have the best time and dance the night away! Choose the most YOU outfit you possibly can, go mad, your girls will LOVE IT. Colour block, print clash, … THE WORKS. If thats not your style, try metallics or statement accessories, just make sure you can dance in it! If you’re trend led, try the amazing puff sleeves that are in store at the moment or décolletage neckline of dreams!
Have the best valentines, if you’re not celebrating, treat yourself to some flowers and choc and enjoy browsing online for inspo for your next night out and about. Hope you’ve enjoyed and have the best valentines – I’m away in Lisbon for two nights with Jonny – CAN’T WAIT! x
